Your payment options with Lake Country Power

Lake Country Power offers several billing programs to help simplify your life. The options are summarized below. If questions, please contact our billing department at 800-421-9959, press #5.


1. SmartHub - the smartest (and most popular) way to manage your account 

Lake Country Power offers the latest technology to help you manage your electric account 24/7 by computer, smartphone or tablet device with a free online application called SmartHub.

SmartHub goes one step further than the other payment options. SmartHub allows you to manage your account while you're on the go from your mobile device. Plus, if you have an outage you can report it with a simple click in the SmartHub app. All members should have a SmartHub account, even if it's just used as an outage reporting tool.

2. "LCP Easy Pay" - auto pay program

The auto pay program is known as "LCP Easy Pay." Save time and eliminate the hassle of writing checks to pay your electric bills. This free electronic funds transfer program will help simplify your life and you’ll save a stamp each month. The program is ideal for travelers and snowbirds and assures your good credit rating.

The program makes it more convenient for you to pay your power bill. With LCP Easy Pay, your payments are automatically deducted from your checking or savings account on the due date each month. The program is convenient and free for co-op members.

To get started, simply download an application here, fill it out and mail it to us along with a voided check or request a form by calling 800-421-9959.

For members enrolled in SmartHub, the auto pay program can be managed under "Billing and Payments," then choose "Auto Pay Program."

How LCP Easy Pay (auto pay) works:

  • We will inform your financial institution to automatically deduct the amount due from your checking or savings account on the bill due date.
  • You’ll be billed monthly and your account will be automatically deducted for the amount you owe each month. You will receive a bill by mail so you know the dollar amount and date it will be withdrawn from your account. 

* Enrollment for automatic payment with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) is managed by you, the cooperative member, through SmartHub.


3. Budget Billing

Budget billing can level out your monthly power bills. Take advantage of a fixed monthly electric bill payment and enroll in budget billing. The monthly budget amount is primarily based on the average of the previous 12 month bill history. Budget bill amounts are re-evaluated two times each year, in the months of March and August.  

Regular, on-time, monthly payments will be required to utilize the benefits of the budget billing program. Late or missed payments of your monthly amount due may result in being removed from the budget program. Should this occur, we offer automatic payment options as a free service to our members. 

We recommend that budget bill members periodically monitor energy use. If you are expecting an increase in your consumption, please contact us to review your account. We will work with you to ensure your fixed monthly budget is sufficiently covering the actual amount of energy usage. Lake Country Power reserves the right to make adjustments to your monthly budget amount, as needed. If this does occur, you will be advised by mail.

4. Credit Card Payments 

We take credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) online, by phone through our automated system, or in person at our three service center locations.


* Enrollment for automatic payment with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) is managed by you, the cooperative member, through SmartHub.


5. MoneyGram payments

Now you can make your payments through MoneyGram

1. Find MoneyGram—over 40,000 U.S. agent locations inside retailers like CVS/pharmacy, Advance America, Albertsons, Walmart and thousands more!
2. Bring these with you:
• Cash: enough for your payment and the MoneyGram fee
• Your 123456789 Account Number
• Receive Code: 15549
3. Complete the MoneyGram ExpressPayment® blue form, use the red MoneyGram phone or use the MoneyGram kiosk to complete your transaction. (Payment processes may vary depending on your location. Simply ask an associate for help.)

6. Pay by phone

Lake County Power offers a Pay-by-Phone automated system.  It’s safe, secure, convenient, and it’s a FREE service to our members.

Our free payment service can be accessed by calling our main phone number, at 1-800-421-9959 or by dialing our toll free payment line directly, at 1-888-222-6892.  We take checking and savings accounts, or credit card payments through this automated service. 

You will need your electric account number to get started, and you will be required to set up a 4 digit PIN (Personal Identification Number).  First time users can access the system with the last 4 digits of their social security number.  Follow the phone prompts to create your unique PIN.


7. Payment kiosk at Mountain Iron and Grand Rapids service centers

Both kiosks can be used during regular business hours, which will allow members to avoid waiting in line to make a quick payment. The after-hours kiosk in Mountain Iron is also open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The outer/external doors will remain open during these times and then automatically lock. This fall, the Cohasset service center will offer after-hours payments at the kiosk, which will be located in front entryway.

NOTE: ACH Check Conversion

Check payments remitted by mail and in our service center locations may be converted to a one-time electronic transfer from a member’s bank account. This transfer of funds may be withdrawn from your account as early as the same day.
