Operation Round Up® gives more than $39,000

Grand Rapids, MN – Through the assistance of Lake Country Power's participating members, the Operation Round Up® Trust Board recently approved $39,700 in contributions to local community programs during its quarterly meeting.

The cooperative’s Trust Board reviewed and considered 59 grant applications and distributed funds to more than 40 projects and programs this past quarter. Since the program’s inception in October 2004, more than $1.9 million has been distributed to more than 1,700 community-based projects and programs.

Grand Rapids, MN – In the interest of public safety and service reliability, Lake Country Power has hired Osmose Utilities Services Inc., to test the cooperative’s poles in central parts of its distribution system. The testing started May 17 and will go into October.

That’s the message Lake Country Power shared with nearly 400 members and guests at its annual meeting Wednesday, April 19, in Grand Rapids, Minn.

Operation Round Up® gives more than $45,000 to community programs

Grand Rapids, MN – Through the assistance of Lake Country Power's participating members, the Operation Round Up® Trust Board recently approved $45,130 in contributions to local community programs during its quarterly meeting.

The cooperative’s Trust Board reviewed and considered 59 grant applications and distributed funds to 50 projects and programs this past quarter. Since the program’s inception in October 2004, more than $1.8 million has been distributed to more than 1,500 community-based projects and programs.

LCP provides backing for food co-op’s business expansion

Grand Rapids, MN – Natural Harvest Food Co-op recently received a $100,000 Revolving Loan Fund from Lake Country Power to support its expansion into a new 9,000 square-foot building at the intersection of Fourth Street and Sixth Avenue in Virginia, Minn.

“Receiving this loan through Lake Country Power shows how excited the community is for our project because they are also part of the communities we serve,” said Anja Parenteau, general manager of Natural Harvest Food Co-op.

Special director election in District 1

February 1, 2017

Grand Rapids, MN – Lake Country Power’s Board of Directors will let members decide on a replacement for the open District 1 board seat. The seat, held by Dale Long until his death in January, will remain vacant while the co-op holds a special election in District 1 this year. Members will be able to vote online or by mail before the co-op’s annual meeting Wednesday, April 19.
