Lake Country Power receives and distributes power from its supplier, Great River Energy. GRE is a not-for-profit electricity provider owned by 28 distribution cooperatives (including Lake Country Power) in Minnesota and Wisconsin which generates and transmits electricity.

GRE provides wholesale electric service to its member-owners who distribute electricity to approximately 660,000 member consumers - or about 1.7 million people.

GRE is committed to meeting State goals for carbon reduction and is presently meeting those expectations ahead of schedule.

In fact, GRE has already met the 2025 goal of 30% reduction in CO2 emissions; seven years early! Also, it appears that they may meet the bigger 2050 goal of 80% much earlier, as well (see Direct CO2 Emissions Reduction line graph on this page).
