Lake Country Power members will experience momentary outages starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, November 14, so the cooperative can assist in the transportation of large equipment through Monday, November 18.
The height of this piece of equipment is 22’6” tall, 16’ wide, and weighs 625,000 lbs. Due to the height, Lake Country Power is required to drop, lift, and turn off power lines to accomplish this move safely for another company, Project Transport.
Outages will affect up to a total of 1,000 LCP members in parts of Cotton, Peary, Iron and Meadowbrook. Outages are expected to last for a short time, about 15-30 minutes.
The time and locations of these short-duration outages are varied as equipment speeds up, has breakdowns or problems. For these reasons, Lake Country Power cannot give an exact time for each momentary outage.
Lake Country Power will have four bucket trucks, a pickup, and eight crew members working on this project to make it go as smooth as possible.
Equipment will follow the route below November 14-15. Members affected will be those served by Cotton circuit 3 and 4, Peary circuit 2 and 4, Iron circuit 3, Meadowbrook circuit 2 and 4:
- Independence to Cotton on Highway 53
- West down Akola Rd. in Cotton
- North on Highway 7
- West on Highway 37

Approximately 250 members from November 16-18 will be affected. Members affected are served by Meadowbrook circuit 2 and 4, with equipment following the below route:
